Actors hopped off the big screen and onto the sparkling red carpet at the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Jan. 27. Stars floated into the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles wearing the newest and brightest threads. Here are some of the best outfits of the night.
Lady Gaga emerged as the most elegant woman of the evening, donning a white Dior couture gown with a thigh-high slit, Jimmy Choo shoes and Tiffany & Company jewelry.
Black Panther co-stars Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong’o slayed the red carpet together. Gurira was adorned in a white Ralph & Russo fitted dress with a feathered off-the-shoulder neckline. Nyong’o rocked a Vera Wang custom dress and Roger Vivier shoes.

Emily Blunt was the lady in pink in a Michael Kors Collection slim hot pink dress, accented with Forevermark Diamonds and a Jimmy Choo clutch. Blunt also won Best Supporting Role for her role in A Quiet Place, directed by her husband John Krasinski.
However, not every star shined brightly that night. Here are some of the not-so great outfits of the evening.
The Handmaid’s Tale actress Elisabeth Moss looked a bit awkward in a Monique Lhuillier off-white gown. The black belt across her waist threw off the entire ensemble.
Best Actress winner Rachel Brosnahan did not come dressed for a win, so it’s a good thing she prevailed. Brosnahan wore a blue-gray Dior Haute Couture tea-length lace dress. The ensemble carried straps across the front that gave a vibe reminiscent of a straitjacket. This look was completed with silver Jimmy Choo heels and Irene Neuwirth jewelry.
Canadian actress Sarah Goldberg wore one of the worst outfits at the award show. Goldberg came in a floral pattern fitted black dress with a tight ruffled neckline, broken sleeves, ruffled cuffs and ruffles on the bottom half of the dress.
Actors made a splash off of the red carpet, too. Black Panther won Outstanding Performance by a Cast; the cast of This Is Us won Top TV Drama Performance; and Mahershala Ali won Supporting Role for a Male Actor for his part in Green Book.
The Amazon original series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won Top Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
The SAG Awards is different from most film award shows in that it focuses only on actors instead of honoring all members of film and television series’ production teams.
