Your television screen is going back to black as “Empire”, “Scandal”, and “Black-ish” return

Primetime television will have us holding onto our seats again as, Empire, Scandal and Black-ish return to our television screens beginning the week of, September 20, 2015.

There are so many different television shows that dominate the primetime screens of networks, such as, Fox and ABC; however, these Empire, Scandal, and Black-ish form a hiatus in the series of Caucasian dominated shows.

Executives at these networks are beginning to see the significance in “black” being a powerful thing. Putting African Americans on exhilarating and gripping shows allows many people to see the importance of allowing everyone to have a spotlight in the media.

Social Media is very influential when it comes to these three shows, because the presence of the viewers is shown on different media outlets. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and even Snapchat are always active when these shows air. Rather it be hashtags, mentions, wall posts, memes, or videos of scenes that are captivating, everyone is talking about the shows.

Reaching over 16 million viewers, Empire is an action packed show about a family in the music industry struggling with fame, money and power. It is  scheduled to return back to our television screens on Wednesday September 23, 2015 airing 8 pm ET on Fox Network.

The creators of Empire, Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, are said to be taking it to the next level. The finale left viewers wondering what would happen after the arrest of Lucious Lyon, played by the award winning actor Terrence Howard. Actress Taraji P. Henson plays Cookie, the ex-wife of Lucious Lyon.

Cookie is a strong minded woman who does whatever is necessary to take her “empire” back.

This season will dig deeper into the background story of Lucious Lyon while showing his true colors. Many stars are said to be appearing sporadically throughout this upcoming season.

Those stars include Vivica A. Fox, Ludacris, Pitbull, and many others. This season of Empire is said to be filled with even more twist, turns and laughs than the previous.

Scandal, is coming back for its fifth season! This thrilling show is filled with political scandal and controversy in America’s White House. The creator, Shonda Rhimes is perfect when it comes to creating excitement.

Scandal is full of twists, turns and unexpected endings. With the passion and love in the previous seasons nothing less is expected of the upcoming season, especially between Olivia Pope played by Kerry Washington and Fitzgerald Grant played by Tony Goldwyn.

Olivia Pope appears to have it all together, but in reality, she is going through a world of struggle and disappointment. The wait for Scandal’s nail biting return is almost over. Scandal will make it’s return to television on Thursday September 24, 2015 at 10/9c on ABC.

Black-ish Starring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross as Andre and Rainbow Johnson is a show filled with great controversy. This comedy filled show is about  an upper/middle class family that strives for greatness, while still having understanding of where they came from.

Rainbow and Andre have well paying jobs, and their children attend private schools. Black-ish was ranked America’s number one new comedy last season. It’s new season premieres on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 9:30/8:30c on ABC.

With the return of these three hard hitting shows viewers will have something to look forward to every Wednesday and Thursday night. So grab your seats and your popcorn because season premieres of Empire, Scandal and Black-ish are rapidly approaching.
